The graphical environment is based on Qt, Wayland, and the developments of the Weston IVI Shell project. Demonstration builds of the platform <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.automotivelinux.org\/agl-distro\/release-notes\">are created<\/a><\/noindex> for QEMU, Renesas M3 boards, Intel Minnowboard Max (Atom E38xx), TI Vayu, and Raspberry Pi 3. With community involvement <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.automotivelinux.org\/agl-distro#supported_hardware\">boot images are being developed based on<\/a><\/noindex> builds for NXP i.MX6 boards,<br \/>\nDragonBoard 410c and Raspberry Pi 4. The source texts of the project's developments are available through<br \/>\n<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.automotivelinux.org\/gerrit\/#\/admin\/projects\/\">Git<\/a><\/noindex>. Companies such as Toyota, Ford, Nissan, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Subaru are involved in the project development.<\/p>\n<p>AGL UCB can be used by automakers as a framework for creating end solutions, after necessary adaptations for hardware and customization of the interface. The platform allows developers to focus on application development and their own methods of organizing user operations, without worrying about low-level infrastructure and minimizing maintenance costs. The project is fully open \u2014 all components are available under free licenses. <\/p>\n<p>A set of working prototypes of typical applications is provided, created using HTML5 and Qt technologies. For example, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.automotivelinux.org\/agl-distro\/als-2016-demo\">we have<\/a><\/noindex> implementation of a home screen, web browser, instrument panel, navigation system (using Google Maps), climate control, multimedia player with DLNA support, sound system configuration interface, news reading application. Components for voice control, information searching, smartphone interaction via Bluetooth, and connection to the CAN network for access to sensors and data transmission between vehicle nodes are offered. <\/p>\n<p><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.automotivelinux.org\/agl-distro\/release-notes\">Features<\/a><\/noindex> new version:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Device profiles for the dashboard and telematics (navigation systems) have been added, as well as a demonstration implementation of the telematics interface;\n<li class=\"l\"> System components have been updated to the Yocto 2.6 platform;\n<li class=\"l\"> Support for launching applications under non-privileged users and privilege separation at the user level has been added to the application development framework (previously, applications and system services were run under root). A forced termination function has been added to the afm-util package;\n<li class=\"l\"> The graphics stack has been updated to Wayland 1.17 and the composite server <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=50361\">Weston 6.0<\/a><\/noindex>;\n<li class=\"l\"> Dashboard profiles and the interface for infotainment systems have added components for receivers and transmitters <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Waltham_transmitting_station\">Waltham<\/a><\/noindex>;\n<li class=\"l\"> The Application Manager (Web App Manager) has been updated to the Chromium 68 codebase and freed from Qt dependencies;\n<li class=\"l\"> A sound backend based on a multimedia server has been implemented and enabled by default <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=47231\">PipeWire<\/a><\/noindex>, replacing PulseAudio;\n<li class=\"l\"> The task manager has been transformed into a separately installable widget;\n<li class=\"l\"> An initial implementation of the session management system (wireplumber) has been added;\n<li class=\"l\"> A new implementation of the sound mixer has been introduced. Support for audio input\/output via Bluetooth has been temporarily removed (to be returned in the 8.0.1 update);\n<li class=\"l\"> Support for the communication and diagnostic automotive bus standard <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/J1939\">J1939<\/a><\/noindex>. Support for protected write mode for the CAN bus has been provided;\n<li class=\"l\"> A BSP package (Board Support Package) has been added for SanCloud BeagleBone Enhanced + Automotive Cape boards. BSP packages for<br \/>\n Renesas RCar3 BSPs have been updated. The i.MX6 package has been transitioned to use the open graphics driver etnaviv for the Vivante GPU.
