He also runs several virtual machines with Gentoo, Debian, and Fedora on his computer for testing various user-space tools.<\/p>\n

Greg was prompted to transition to Arch due to the need to work with the latest version of a specific program, and Arch had exactly what he needed. He also previously knew several Arch developers and found the
\ndistribution's philosophy and the idea of continuous delivery of updates appealing, eliminating the need for periodic installations of new distribution releases while always having access to the latest versions of software. <\/p>\n

A significant factor is the developers' effort to stay as close to upstream as possible, avoiding unnecessary patches, maintaining the original behavior intended by the initial developers, and promoting bug fixes directly into the core projects. The ability to evaluate the current state of software enables good feedback within the community, quickly spotting emerging bugs, and swiftly obtaining fixes.<\/p>\n
