The settings for the Adobe Flash Player plugin have removed the option for permanently enabling Flash, leaving only the options to disable Flash and selectively enable it for specific sites (enabled by explicit click) without remembering the chosen mode. In the ESR branches of Firefox, support for Flash will remain until the end of 2020;

<noindex>support for inactive</noindex> by default the handling of files <noindex>userContent.css</noindex> and <noindex>userChrome.css</noindex>, allowing users to redefine the design of websites or the Firefox interface. The reason for default disabling is to reduce the browser's startup time. Changes through userContent.css and userChrome.css are rarely performed by users, and loading CSS data consumes additional resources (optimization eliminates unnecessary disk access). To restore the processing of userChrome.css and userContent.css, a setting 'toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets' has been added to about:config, which will be automatically activated for users who already use userChrome.css or userContent.css;

For WebRTC, the capability to process channels using different video codecs has been implemented, simplifying the creation of video conferencing services where participants can use different client software;

For the ARM64 architecture in the JavaScript engine, support for JIT compilation has been implemented;

Information about the use of the 32-bit version of Firefox in a 64-bit OS environment has been excluded from the browser identifiers (navigator.userAgent, navigator.platform, and navigator.oscpu) (previously required for Flash but left an additional vector for covert user identification);

A picture-in-picture mode has been added for video viewing, allowing videos to detach into a floating window that remains visible while navigating in the browser. To view in this mode, you need to click on the popup hint or select 'Picture in picture' from the context menu that appears by right-clicking on the video (on YouTube, which uses its own context menu handler, you need to right-click twice or click while holding the Shift key). Support for this mode can be enabled in about:config using the option 'media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.enabled';

<noindex></noindex>

<noindex>Added</noindex> Implementation of a password generator ("signon.generation.available" in about:config), allowing the provision of a suggestion with a generated secure password when filling out registration forms;

<noindex></noindex>

In the password manager, <noindex>has added</noindex> the ability to handle accounts within the context of a top-level domain, enabling the suggestion of a single password saved for all subdomains. This issue is specific to the Windows platform and allows arbitrary files to be written to the system when launching the browser from another application (for example, when opening a link from a messaging program, the link can be formatted in such a way that launching the browser leads to the creation of an autorun file in the 'Startup' directory). The reduction in critical vulnerabilities is due to the fact that memory issues, such as buffer overflows and accesses to already freed memory areas, are now marked as dangerous but not critical. In the new release, 13 such issues have been resolved, which could potentially lead to the execution of malicious code when opening specially crafted pages.

<noindex><a rel="nofollow"
