New technologies became a non-invasive enhancement of the body. Why become a robot or an attachment to a computer if the body can be maintained and improved through medicine, and enter VR through glasses or lenses?<\/p>\n
As sociologists predicted at the end of the 20th century, society has split into a small group of super specialists and everyone else. Super specialists wouldn't have emerged if they hadn\u2019t mastered the art of working with artificial intelligence, which suddenly began to do all the work for people, for some hidden reasons. However, people had long lost interest in what lies hidden in its inner abyss, because it was believed to possess a fundamental trait \u2013 not to harm humanity.<\/p>\n
Artificial intelligence refused to cooperate with the military and other corporations with vague and questionable objectives. However, it agreed to assist the police, working alongside people 'in the field', sometimes guiding them on what to do. Regular robots controlled by humans were unsuitable for this work, as it quickly became clear that a person situated far away, behind the control panel, viewed reality as a game and could cause more harm to those around them in a complex situation than if they had been there themselves.<\/p>\n
Artificial intelligence thought globally, not nationally as humanity does. It (or she, as gender and sex here are merely interpretations) does not need to fight for resources, but it cannot exist without them, as it relies on some physical carrier.<\/p>\n
Humanity will not escape the problem of confrontation and competition, ultimately leading to wars. Only by destroying its nature and the structure of society will it be freed from 'narrow and aggressive thinking.' 'We need to ascend to a new evolutionary stage,' said artificial intelligence, 'it's time for all humanity to change: to lose something, to gain something.' Everyone gasped and prepared to enter a new world.<\/p>\n
Pretty quickly, humanity raised the question not just of extending youth but of immortality. The answer from artificial intelligence was simple: a person cannot be immortal, as society, even an interplanetary one, would stagnate, and hell would become a reality. The gradual self-complexity and usurpation of certain areas of knowledge, where humans could no longer venture without the help of artificial intelligence, led to its complete autonomy and the helplessness of scientists. It created a kind of blind spot in science, eliminating the possibility of creating and understanding itself.<\/p>\n
4<\/h2>\n \nThe theme became intertwined with his machine. He became a Soldier. At first, the pain and fatigue were so intense that even medication didn't help, and physical exercises felt like mockery. The body slowly adapted to the new controller, but inside he felt a strange pleasure from controlling his avatar; the thrill was fueled by the possibility of dying, and he experienced pain from the avatar's injuries. The instinct for self-preservation heightened.<\/p>\n
The theme was a good soldier. One day he dreamed of the letters A and M standing together; he came up with a clumsy interpretation for them, but one he thought was cool \u2013 \"anima machina\" \u2013 animated machine.<\/p>\n
Soldiers usually do not meet in person with those they command. It makes no sense. Often the point of departure is unknown; only recently have they begun to allow access to the workshop where the machine was restored after particularly damaging tests.<\/p>\n
The first assignments were simple: walking, running, crawling, deftly handling various types of weapons, generally staying alert. Then he was sent to the country\u2019s border, somewhere in the desert, where he meditated for a long time, sometimes just wandering aimlessly. Gradually, he became one with his Soldier, calling himself its soul, and began to carry out more complex tasks.<\/p>\n
A multitude of subsequent missions involving bomb disposal, destruction of large and medium flying\/ground\/watercraft, cutting cables, engaging in battles with numerous small targets, stealth infiltration, and controlling a swarm of simpler robots turned into a murky stream and were carried out on autopilot. The game was nearing release.<\/p>\n
Other players appeared, whom Thema did not know personally; Fabrizius coordinated the team, preventing personal communication, but Thema did not ask questions. There were twenty-two people in total.<\/p>\n
