Since the release of version <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=51485\">4.16<\/a><\/noindex> 14 bug reports were closed, and 274 changes were made. <\/p>\n<p>The most significant changes:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> The Mono engine has been updated to version 4.9.3;\n<li class=\"l\"> Support for compressed textures in DXTn format has been added to d3dx9 (migrated from Wine Staging);\n<li class=\"l\"> An initial version of the Windows Script runtime library (msscript) has been proposed;\n<li class=\"l\"> APC call handling has been added to ntdll before process startup;\n<li class=\"l\"> Support for AMD VEGA12 GPU has been added to wined3d;\n<li class=\"l\"> Support for handling device change notifications via the XRandR API has been implemented;\n<li class=\"l\"> Support for RSA key generation has been added;\n<li class=\"l\"> Support for stubless proxies for object interfaces has been implemented for the ARM64 architecture;\n<li class=\"l\"> Bug reports related to the operation of games and applications have been closed<br \/>\n Vampire the Masquerade, AppCAD, Civilization 4, Shed installer, Royal Quest, iCloud.<\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Simultaneously <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.winehq.org\/pipermail\/wine-devel\/2019-September\/151559.html\">introduced<\/a><\/noindex> project release <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/wine-staging\/wine-staging\/\">Wine Staging 4.17<\/a><\/noindex>, which includes extended Wine builds featuring not fully ready or risky patches that are not suitable for inclusion in the main Wine branch. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging provides 855 additional patches. The new release has synchronized with the Wine codebase 4.17. Support for raw input (Raw Input in user32) has been added, which resolved issues in games based on the Source engine, as well as Overwatch and Star Citizen. Fixes that prevent crashes in games are included.<br \/>\nEmpire Earth, Trinklet Supreme, and Silent Hill 4: The Room. A dsdmo.dll placeholder for DirectSound effects has been added.<\/p>\n<p>Valve Corporation <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ValveSoftware\/Proton\/releases\/tag\/proton-4.11-6\">released<\/a><\/noindex> new release of the project <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ValveSoftware\/Proton\/\">Proton 4.11-6<\/a><\/noindex>, which is based on the developments of the Wine project and aims to enable the launch of gaming applications created for Windows on Linux, available in the Steam catalog. The project's developments <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ValveSoftware\/Proton\/\">is distributed<\/a><\/noindex> under the BSD license. Proton allows you to run Windows-only game applications directly in the Linux Steam client. The package includes an implementation of DirectX 9 (based on <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Joshua-Ashton\/d9vk\/\">D9VK<\/a><\/noindex>), DirectX 10\/11 (based on <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=50209\">DXVK<\/a><\/noindex>) and DirectX 12 (based on <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=48648\">vkd3d<\/a><\/noindex>), which operates through translating DirectX calls into the Vulkan API, provides enhanced support for game controllers, and allows full-screen mode usage regardless of supported screen resolutions in games. <\/p>\n<p>In the new version of Proton, the DXVK layer (implementation of DXGI, Direct3D 10, and Direct3D 11 over the Vulkan API) has been updated to the branch <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=51537\">1.4<\/a><\/noindex>, which includes<br \/>\nthe Direct3D 11 interface has been updated to version 11.4, and DXGI to version 1.5. Meanwhile, the DXVK developers have released a corrective update  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/doitsujin\/dxvk\/releases\/tag\/v1.4.1\">DXVK 1.4.1<\/a><\/noindex>, which addressed issues leading to crashes in D3D10 code and improved support for the games &#171;Batman: Arkham City&#187;, &#171;Hitman 2&#187; and &#171;Ni no Kuni Remastered&#187;.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, a significant new release of the project can be noted. <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Joshua-Ashton\/d9vk\/\">D9VK 0.21<\/a><\/noindex>, which advances the implementation of Direct3D 9, operating through the translation of calls to the Vulkan graphics API. The project is based on the DXVK codebase, which has been extended to support Direct3D 9. Compared to the Direct3D 9 implementation based on WineD3D, D9VK achieves higher performance, as the translation of Direct3D 9 through OpenGL is slower than translation through Vulkan. <\/p>\n<p>In <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Joshua-Ashton\/d9vk\/releases\/tag\/0.21\">new version<\/a><\/noindex> new Direct3D 9 calls have been added.<br \/>\n D3DBLEND_BOTHSRCALPHA and D3DBLEND_BOTHINVSRCALPHA have implemented a locking system for MSAA images and depth maps, added support for YUV2 and YUVY formats, extended the constant set when enabling programmable vertex shader processing, and optimized performance.
