The discussion is about the Windows 10 scheduler learning to recognize so-called \"favored cores\"\u2014the best processor cores with the highest frequency potential. It is no secret that in modern multi-core processors, cores can vary in their frequency characteristics: some overclock better than others. For some time now, processor manufacturers have been specially marking the best cores that can reliably operate at a higher clock speed than the other cores in the same processor. By prioritizing workload on these cores, higher performance can be achieved. This is essentially the foundation of Intel Turbo Boost 3.0, which is currently implemented through a special driver.<\/p>\n
