How did this happen?<\/h1>\n

\nAfter a challenging journey from a graduate of the radiophysics department, through an employee of a state scientific institution, to a teacher of an authoring special course at my beloved alma mater, I finally became a respected employee of the R&D department of a very cool augmented reality startup. Cool company, cool tasks, a tight schedule, great conditions, and salary\u2026 but after working in a research institute, where you sit in a lab with other mathematically educated people who understand your stream of consciousness with half a word, it turned out to be tough to interact with non-mathematicians. You tell them seemingly simple and obvious things, like \"did you check the data for homoscedasticity?\", and they ask you not to talk that way in front of women. Also, my teaching background didn\u2019t let me go\u2026 In short, I became an active participant in internal corporate knowledge-sharing sessions. At some point, I even started leading a small group on mathematics.<\/a><\/noindex> As of now, the guys have already \"graduated.\"<\/p>\n

They haven\u2019t become data scientists in R&D yet, but it has become much easier for them to understand what mathematicians are talking about in their language. If they wish, they can continue learning independently or through video courses. The main task, which I believe we successfully solved in our courses, was to show people that mathematics is not as difficult and scary as it seems at first glance. You just need to get used to a specific way of thinking: unfolding chains of logical reasoning. <\/p>\n

\nThe channel could have started its existence 2 weeks earlier if it weren't for problems with lighting\u2026 Since I record videos in the evenings, I needed a sufficiently powerful artificial light source. And since I couldn't afford professional equipment yet, I had to engineer a lighting setup from available materials. I ended up putting in a lot of bulbs. And it turned out to be a mess. It turned out that a large number of point light sources create a lot of shadows \ud83d\ude42 However, I was able to modify the design to a relatively shadow-free version simply by replacing point sources with linear ones.<\/p>\n

So, what is the channel about?<\/h1>\n

\nThe channel features short (up to 20 minutes) video lectures.
\nThere will be 3 main sections: A) mathematics, B) data processing and analysis (which will also include image processing), and C) machine learning. <\/p>\n

Sections B) and C) will be supplemented with lectures on implementing the studied algorithms in Python, using NumPy, ScikitLearn, Pandas, etc.<\/p>\n

The mathematics section will include all the mathematical foundations necessary for sections B) and C), starting from the very basics. Since I claim that mathematics is accessible to all, we will begin with a brief review of the fundamentals.<\/p>\n

As of now (5 weeks since the launch), the first block \"Introduction to Mathematics\" has been completed. In this block, we briefly reviewed the school curriculum of arithmetic, recalled all the properties of exponents, LCM, GCD, fractions, formulas of polynomial multiplication, etc. <\/p>\n

The second block has started, dedicated to sets and logical operations. This mathematics isn't from the school curriculum, but it's not harder!<\/p>\n

And there will be much more interesting content: a revisiting of the school curriculum in algebra and geometry, trigonometry, a smooth transition into the complex plane, derivatives and integrals, linear algebra, spectral analysis of differential equations, analytical geometry, probability theory\u2026<\/p>\n
