The indicator turns blue when certain elements that compromise privacy or are used for tracking present on the page are blocked. The indicator is crossed out when the user has disabled tracking protection for the current site.\n<\/p>\n<p><center><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ffp4g1ylyit3jdyti1hqcvtb-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com\/security\/files\/2019\/10\/protections.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Firefox 70 release\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/8f3dfe350089ecbad51bb18f8bc67072.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/a><\/noindex><\/center><\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> Pages opened via HTTP or FTP are now marked with an insecure connection icon, which is also displayed for HTTPS in case of certificate issues. The lock symbol color for HTTPS has changed from green to gray (the green color can be restored via the setting security.secure_connection_icon_color_gray). The shift from security assurance indicators to warnings about security issues is caused by the widespread adoption of HTTPS, which is now considered a norm rather than an additional protection.\n<\/p>\n<p><center><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/security\/files\/2019\/10\/identity_icons.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Firefox 70 release\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/6598f4e629d4451be599da3a522efd79.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/a><\/noindex><\/center><\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> In the address bar, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=51271\">has been put into operation.<\/a><\/noindex> Display of the company name when a verified EV certificate is used on the site. The display of the company name from the EV certificate in the address bar can be restored through the setting &#171;security.identityblock.show_extended_validation&#187; in about:config.\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Firefox 70 release\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/f7f34640c4902302b155927b685abcf4.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> in the JavaScript engine <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/hacks.mozilla.org\/2019\/08\/the-baseline-interpreter-a-faster-js-interpreter-in-firefox-70\/\">implemented<\/a><\/noindex> A new 'baseline' bytecode interpreter occupies an intermediate niche between a regular interpreter and a 'baseline' JIT compiler. This new interpreter is significantly faster than the old one and utilizes shared procedures for bytecode processing, caching, and profiling data with the 'baseline' JIT compiler. The additional interpreter allows for the acceleration of frequently used JavaScript functions after reverting them from the optimized JIT (Ion JIT) back to the compilation stage for the unoptimized 'baseline' JIT, for instance, after a function is called with arguments of other types.\n<p>In complex web applications, compilation for 'baseline' JIT and optimizations for Ion JIT take a considerable amount of time, and the additional fast interpreter enables an overall performance boost and a slight reduction in memory consumption. In conducted tests, enabling the additional interpreter using shared statistics and inline caching with JIT resulted in a decrease in page load times by 2-8%, while the performance of web development tools increased by 2-10%;<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Firefox 70 release\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/94d6e86f6a441102e8c93f4495e0e050.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Firefox 70 release\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/28cd477defa05ecb7c048f651734953f.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> for Linux builds <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bugzilla.mozilla.org\/show_bug.cgi?id=1563859\">enabled<\/a><\/noindex> by default, the application of the compositing system <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/servo\/webrender\">WebRender<\/a><\/noindex> for AMD, Intel, and NVIDIA GPUs (only for the Nouveau driver), when using the Mesa package version 18.2 or newer. For Windows builds, in addition to previously supported AMD and NVIDIA GPUs, WebRender is now also activated for Intel GPUs. The compositing system <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/servo\/webrender\">WebRender<\/a><\/noindex> is written in Rust and delegates page content rendering operations to the GPU.\n<p>By using WebRender instead of the built-in composition system in the Gecko engine, which processes data using the CPU, shaders executed in the GPU are used to perform operations for the composite rendering of page elements, significantly increasing rendering speed and reducing the CPU load. To forcibly enable WebRender in about:config, the 'gfx.webrender.all' and 'gfx.webrender.enabled' settings can be changed;<\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/groups.google.com\/forum\/#!topic\/mozilla.dev.platform\/sevpJDQwDfg\">Added<\/a><\/noindex> support for strict site isolation mode, developed under the code name <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=50106\">Fission<\/a><\/noindex>. In this mode, pages from different websites are always placed in memory of separate processes, each of which applies its own isolated sandbox. Process separation is done not by tabs, but by domains, which further isolates the content of external scripts and iframe blocks. A few days ago, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mozilla-mobile\/fenix\/releases\/tag\/v2.2.0\">has been published<\/a><\/noindex> a new experimental release of Firefox Preview 2.2 was launched, which fixed several significant issues in the interface and user interaction methods.
