At the same time, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.chromium.org\/developers\/calendar\">is available<\/a><\/noindex> the stable release of the open-source project <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/dev.chromium.org\/\">Chromium<\/a><\/noindex>, which serves as the foundation for Chrome. The Chrome browser <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/chromium\/wiki\/ChromiumBrowserVsGoogleChrome\">differs<\/a><\/noindex> features the use of Google logos, a crash notification system, the ability to load Flash plugins on demand, modules for playing protected video content (DRM), an automatic update installation system, and the transmission of RLZ parameters during searches. <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=26822\">. There are three operating modes: &#171;secure&#187;, &#171;automatic&#187;, and &#171;off&#187;. In &#171;secure&#187; mode, hosts are determined only based on previously cached secure values (obtained via a secure connection) and queries via DoH; a fallback to regular DNS is not applied. In &#171;automatic&#187; mode, if DoH and the secure cache are unavailable, data can be retrieved from the insecure cache and traditional DNS can be used. In &#171;off&#187; mode, the general cache is checked first, and if no data is found, the query is sent via the system DNS. <\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> The synchronization tools now feature preliminary support for shared clipboard, which is not yet activated for all users. In instances of Chrome linked by the same account, it is now possible to access the clipboard contents of another device, including sharing clipboard content between mobile and desktop systems. The clipboard content is encrypted using end-to-end encryption, preventing access to the text on Google servers.\n<li class=\"l\"> For certain categories of users, an experimental option to change the theme and customize the screen displayed when opening a new tab has been enabled. In the &#171;Customize&#187; menu displayed in the lower right corner of the new tab screen, in addition to selecting a background image, support for changing the shortcut layout method and the option to change the theme has been added. Shortcuts can be automatically suggested based on the most frequently opened sites, tailored by the user, or completely disabled. The theme can be selected from a set of predefined themes or created by choosing desired colors from the palette. Flags &#171;chrome:\/\/flags\/#ntp-customization-menu-v2&#187; and<br \/>\n&#171;chrome:\/\/flags\/#chrome-colors&#187;;<\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> For enterprises, the default address bar now includes the ability to search for files in Google Drive storage. The search is conducted not only by titles but also by the content of documents, taking into account their opening history in the past;\n<p><center><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/XAaARreQBTWvrb2gvmC1zsu91-HQgpPSAoujDP3y3OnUdpE0q5TmufYWw4K0r9POyU4=w474\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Chrome 78 Released\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dbe26ac520df045720373e768354b825.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/a><\/noindex><\/center><\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> The Password Checkup component has been included, which will be gradually activated for specific categories of users (a flag for mandatory activation is provided &#171;chrome:\/\/flags\/#password-leak-detection&#187;). When attempting to log in to any website, Password Checkup checks the username and password against a database of compromised accounts and displays a warning if any issues are detected (the check <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=50103\">is performed<\/a><\/noindex> based on the user-side hash prefix). Checks are performed against a database covering over 4 billion compromised accounts that appeared in user database leaks. A warning is also issued when attempting to use trivial passwords like 'abc123';\n<li class=\"l\"> The ability to initiate a call from an Android device linked to the same Google account has been added. In the desktop browser, the user can highlight a phone number in the text, right-click, and redirect the call operation to the Android device, after which a notification will pop up on the phone allowing the call to be initiated;\n<li class=\"l\"> The format of the tooltip displayed when hovering over the tab header has been changed. The tooltip now appears as a popup block showing the full title text and the page URL. This block can be conveniently used to quickly find the desired page when opening a large number of tabs (instead of sifting through tabs, you can hover over the tab bar to locate the sought page). In the future, this block is expected to display a page thumbnail as well;\n<li class=\"l\"> An experimental feature has been added (chrome:\/\/flags\/#enable-force-dark) that forces the use of a dark theme when viewing websites. The dark representation of the site is achieved by inverting colors;\n<li class=\"l\"> <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/web.dev\/css-props-and-vals\/\">Added<\/a><\/noindex> specification support <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/drafts.css-houdini.org\/css-properties-values-api\/\">CSS Properties and Values API Level 1<\/a><\/noindex>, allowing the registration of custom CSS properties that always have a defined type, allow for default value setting, and permit binding of animation effects. The registerProperty() method or the CSS rule '@property' can be used for property registration, for example:\n<p>   CSS.registerProperty({<br \/>\n     name: '--my-font-size',<br \/>\n     syntax: '',<br \/>\n     initialValue: '0px',<br \/>\n     inherits: false<br \/>\n   });<\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> In Origin Trials mode (experimental features that require separate <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/developers.chrome.com\/origintrials\/#\/trials\/active\">activation<\/a><\/noindex>) several new APIs are proposed. The Origin Trial allows the specified API to work with applications loaded from localhost or 127.0.0.1, or after registration and obtaining a special token that is valid for a limited time for a specific site.\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> API <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/web\/updates\/2019\/08\/native-file-system\">Native File System<\/a><\/noindex>, allowing the creation of web applications that interact with files in the local file system. For instance, the new API may be requested in browser-based integrated development environments, text editors, and image and video editors. In order to gain the ability to read and write files directly, use dialogs for opening and saving files, and navigate through directory contents, the application requests special confirmation from the user;\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Chrome 78 Released\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/9445f43586cf69f2f2e9aa2b5a221dae.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> The mechanism <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=50033\">Signed HTTP Exchanges (SXG)<\/a><\/noindex>, allowing verified copies of web pages to be placed on other sites, appearing to users as the original pages (without changing the URL), <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1tARwhN_yymddnhyGrYmmM8b9RP0RKPKW_6T9yEI5CAg\/edit\">extended<\/a><\/noindex> with the ability to load sub-resources (CSS, JS, images, etc.) from the original site. With this new capability, content providers can create a single signed HTML file that encompasses all associated sub-resources;\n<li class=\"l\"> API <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/samuelgoto\/sms-receiver\/blob\/master\/README.md\">SMS Receiver<\/a><\/noindex>, allowing a web application to access SMS messages, for example, for automating the verification of an operation involving a one-time code sent via SMS. Access is granted only to SMS messages that contain a special tag, linking the message to a specific web application;\n<\/ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Significantly increased the loading performance of ArrayBuffer objects via Web Sockets. On the Linux platform, the loading speed increased by 7.5 times, on Windows by 4.1 times, and on macOS by 7.8 times;\n<li class=\"l\"> Added the ability to define transparency values in percentage for CSS properties opacity, stop-opacity, fill-opacity, stroke-opacity, and shape-image-threshold. The speed of processing RegExp expressions with non-matching matches has been increased.<br \/>\n The speed of calling JavaScript functions from WebAssembly and vice versa has significantly increased (by 9-20%).
