The program is compatible with various XMPP clients and servers, focused on ensuring conversation privacy and supports end-to-end encryption using XMPP extensions <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/conversations.im\/omemo\/\">OMEMO<\/a><\/noindex> based on the Signal protocol or encryption via OpenPGP. The project code is written in Vala using the GTK toolkit and <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/dino\/dino\">is distributed<\/a><\/noindex>  is licensed under GPLv3+.<\/p>\n<p>The reason for creating the new client is said to be the desire to create a simple and intuitive free application for communication, reminiscent of WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, but unlike open messengers like Signal and Wire, it is not tied to centralized services and does not depend on any particular company.<br \/>\nUnlike many popular messengers, Dino does not integrate with browser stacks and does not use bloated platforms like Electron, allowing for very high interface responsiveness and low resource consumption.<\/p>\n<p><center><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/dino.im\/img\/screenshot-main.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A new communication client Dino has been introduced\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/d10af112a9736bec953000ea7c3c7458.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/a><\/noindex><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Among the implemented features in Dino <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/dino\/dino\/wiki\/Supported-XEPs\">XEP extensions<\/a><\/noindex> and capabilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Multi-user chats with support for private groups and public channels (in groups, communication can only be done with included group members on any topic, while in channels any users can communicate only on the specified topic);\n<li class=\"l\"> Use of avatars;\n<li class=\"l\"> Message archive management;\n<li class=\"l\"> Marking the last received and read messages in chats;\n<li class=\"l\"> Attaching files and images to messages. Files can be transferred either directly from client to client or uploaded to a server with a link provided for another user to download the file;\n<p><center><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\"
