The First Mods for Red Dead Redemption 2<\/a><\/noindex> began are coming out<\/a><\/noindex> even before the game was released on PC, and fans now regularly release modifications for the Rockstar Games action title. For example, a user named HJ created a mod called Ped Damage Overhaul, altering many aspects related to non-playable characters.<\/p>\n

\"Realistic<\/p>\n

HJ's modification significantly enhances the behavior of all NPCs in Red Dead Redemption 2. They will respond to hits in specific body parts, for instance, beginning to limp when injured in the leg. Suffering severe injuries, non-playable characters will fall down and remain there for a certain period. Thanks to the increased health of NPCs, they do not die after a few shots unless shot directly in the head. The Ped Damage Overhaul mod increases non-playable characters' resistance to fire: they will no longer die within seconds after being engulfed in flames, and some NPCs even get a chance to survive.<\/p>\n

\"Realistic<\/p>\n

The mod's author also changed the damage balance for non-playable characters, making it easier for them to kill the player's character. If the default settings in Ped Damage Overhaul do not satisfy the user, they can be adjusted in the accompanying INI file that comes with the modification.
