The traditional monthly patch for Windows 10 has caused problems again. If in January it was about existed<\/a><\/noindex> \u2018blue screens\u2019, Wi-Fi disconnections, and so on, the current update number KB4532693 adds<\/a><\/noindex> still has some issues.<\/p>\n

The error renames the user profile in the C:Users folder, but it can be restored by editing some registry branches. You can also restart Windows at least three times or simply uninstall the update. Meanwhile it is reported<\/a><\/noindex>, some users have completely lost their profile data. Recovering them has proven to be impossible, at least without previously created restore points.<\/p>\n

Additionally, a series of failures were caused by patch KB4524244. The update caused boot failures on HP computers for several users. The issues seem to be related to the Sure Start Secure Boot Key Protection security system in the BIOS. If it is disabled, everything works fine. Otherwise, the OS might not boot.<\/p>\n

The issue has been confirmed on the HP EliteBook 745 G5 with AMD Ryzen APU and the EliteDesk 705 G4 mini PC. However, there are no issues found on Lenovo counterparts with the same processor. Additionally, failures have been reported on Apple computers.<\/p>\n

According to the latest information, Microsoft is stopping<\/a><\/noindex> the distribution of update KB4524244 for Windows 10 versions 1909, 1903, 1809, and even 1607. The timing for re-deployment has not yet been specified. It is recommended to uninstall the update.<\/p>\n
