Broadcom has unveiled the world's first chip for mobile devices that supports the Wi-Fi 6E standard. In addition to significantly increased data transfer speeds, the new wireless module boasts energy consumption that has decreased fivefold compared to its predecessor.<\/p>\n

The new Broadcom chip, designated BCM4389, also supports Bluetooth 5, with its primary purpose being smartphones. Besides the reduced power consumption, the company promises data transmission speeds of up to 2.1 Gbps, which is five times faster than the transmission speeds provided by Wi-Fi 6 modules\u2014400 Mbps.<\/p>\n

Additionally, BCM4389 supports operation in the 6 GHz range while maintaining backward compatibility with 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies. The 6 GHz band expands the bandwidth by 1200 MHz, enabling support for 14 new channels of 80 MHz and 7 channels of 160 MHz. <\/p>\n

Another interesting innovation will be the introduction of MIMO radar, which will positively affect the performance with the rapidly growing popularity of wireless earbuds. Broadcom promises complete absence of disruptions and interference when using these devices with products equipped with the new chip.<\/p>\n
