Compared to their predecessors, the number of cores has increased, while the price has remained the same \u2014 so the Xeon E has also become cheaper per core.

\nFamiliarity with the Xeon E may surprise those who associate Intel Xeon with a price tag heavily adorned with zeros. Yes, the top models are indeed priced that way, but there are others, starting from the Xeon E3, which offer more performance for their price with each new generation. If we take a look at the table below, the cost per Xeon E core is $50-$80 \u2014 a quite reasonable price that won\u2019t burden the budget for an entry-level server. It goes without saying that such servers are often required for a variety of tasks.<\/p>\n

Models with the G index come equipped with Intel UHD Graphics P630, with options available that do not include graphics \u2014 these are slightly cheaper. The TDP of the E-2200 ranges from 70-100 W, which is quite low by server standards; the lineup includes processors for embedded systems, including 8-core models like E-2278GEL<\/a><\/noindex> with a base frequency of 2 GHz and a TDP of 35 W. The processors support dual-channel DDR4-2666 memory up to 128 GB.<\/p>\n

Thus, the launch of the Xeon E-2200 family marks the imminent arrival of affordable 8-core single-socket servers on the Intel platform \u2014 it seems that for some, a 30% increase in cores per node will be very welcome.
