OpenVSP<\/strong> \u2014 a free parametric CAD software for designing and analyzing the geometry of aircraft (CFD, FEM). The program is developed by employees of NASA Langley Research Center<\/em> and enabled<\/a> to the software list NASA Software Catalog<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

From September 17-19, 2019, the \u00abOpenVSP Workshop 2019<\/em>\u00bb<\/a> was held, where the developments and plans for the 3.19.x branch were presented. On November 9, the release of OpenVSP<\/em> 3.19.0 took place, and just over a week later, a corrective release 3.19.1 was issued.<\/p>\n

The development branch OpenVSP<\/em> 3.19.x includes three most anticipated innovations: VSPAERO<\/em> 6.0.0, Generic XSec Editor<\/em> and auto-generated API documentation using Doxygen<\/em>. Additionally, extensive work was done to improve and fix bugs. A significant part of this work was carried out by the team of ESAero<\/em>, sponsored by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Most changes were aimed at improving cross-platform compatibility, accuracy of calculations, and stability.<\/p>\n

We ask all users who utilize VSPAERO to restart models in VSPAERO<\/em> 6.0.0 and report any issues encountered. While changes to the VSPAERO GUI<\/em> are minimal, users can utilize CLI commands to access all advanced features. The most significant feature is the ability to install multiple unsteady rotating bodies. Over time, a GUI interface will also be added to use all capabilities of the analyzer.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In addition to all program updates, now users Ubuntu<\/em> 18.04 can download the DEB package (thanks to Cibin Joseph<\/em> for the packaging work), and a 64-bit EXE is also available for users. Windows<\/em> Fully unsteady, accurately temporal analysis;<\/p>\n
