<\/a><\/noindex>In total, 150 successful developers, designers, marketers, and managers were gathered at the venue, while the remaining 95 comprised jury members, investors, mentors, and experts. They were with the teams throughout both the remote and on-site stages \u2014 over these two months, they practically became family.<\/p>\n
Instead of a thousand words, we asked participants and mentors to share their opinions on the program's progress and results \u2014 in our view, on-the-ground insights are far more interesting.<\/p>\n
Overall on the progress of the program<\/h4>\n \nFrozenLab Team:<\/b> \"In the Digital Breakthrough competition, our initial task was to automate and classify user inquiries that come into the management company. We tackled it during the finals of the competition and developed it further at the pre-accelerator. Our main goal during the program was not to attract investments in the project, but to find opportunities for its development. As a result, we developed a project based on speech analytics, which identifies who is calling the company (and their residential address) and immediately forwards the information to the right person within the company or helps process the request right away. During the pre-accelerator, we already found our first clients \u2014 a management company from Ufa, who were interested in our ideas and concepts and agreed to conduct a paid pilot with us on mutually beneficial terms. We can manage this project remotely, which allows us to provide support to companies in any city across Russia.\" <\/i><\/p>\nDmitry Kuznetsov, member of the Black Pixel team<\/b>: \"At the final, regional stage, and as part of the pre-acceleration program, we worked on a prototype device that analyzes the health status of individuals suffering from arterial hypertension. It collects data on the patient's condition and sends it to a cardiologist who makes the final diagnosis. The data collection takes about 2-3 weeks, after which the main diagnosis is established.\" <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\nTeam PLEXeT<\/b> initially needed to compare two programs for plagiarism detection. To simplify the task and avoid training the system for each programming language, the team compared the executable code of the program. This solution allowed for checking multiple files at once. However, there was a challenge \u2014 the problem turned out to be too specific\u2026 So they did not focus on finding duplicates orienting to a single PLEXeT client: \"We thought \u2014 why not start looking for viruses? This is a large and lucrative market where there is a problem of quick file analysis. We have almost everything ready to solve this issue,\"<\/i>, \u2014 says Oleg Bakhtadze-Karnaukhov, captain of the PLEXeT team.<\/b> <\/p>\n
Thus, the team pivoted and the concept changed. Originally, they planned to implement several services at once \u2014 creating something like firewalls to protect documents in a corporate network, anti-phishing, and much more. But trackers suggested that this was not the right path and that they needed to focus on just one solution. And that\u2019s what they did. <\/p>\n
\"Initially, we planned to create 4-5 services at once, building an ecosystem. But then we realized that this wouldn't work \u2014 we had to keep only the most promising ones,\"<\/i> Oleg comments. <\/p>\n
After the pivot, the team decided to upgrade the technical aspect. \"We can detect viruses, so let\u2019s distribute them,\"<\/i>, \u2014 the team announced. And, in fact, they executed everything at a high level using clustering based on syntactic analysis. This solution helped to identify some threats predictively, before human detection. <\/p>\n
Yuri Katser, captain of the WAICO team from Moscow<\/b>: \u201cAs part of the pre-accelerator, we continued working on creating a web service for processing data from pipe defectoscopes, with which we won the final of the competition. I would especially like to express my respect for certain aspects of the educational program, which were extremely useful. What stood out the most was the lecture on the legal foundations of creating a company \u2014 this is often something that is overlooked.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
Developers from the Dream Team<\/b> were working on an application that helps tourists visit Russian reserves without obstacles. It will allow purchasing tickets online \u2014 this will eliminate queues and make visits to such places more comfortable and safe. Currently, many enter the territory \u2018illegally,\u2019 which can lead to emergency situations requiring the involvement of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. To register in the system, a person must enter their passport details and outline their desired route \u2014 this will replace the lengthy process of registration in printed journals. Access to the territory will be granted via a QR code received as a result. <\/p>\nSergey Ivanov, tracker<\/b>: \u201cThe main goal of the pre-accelerator program is to give projects a further life so that they remain in demand by the real market, real customers in the public sector and corporations. This work was conducted in two directions.<\/p>\n
The first direction is education. A large amount of educational material was prepared on various modules. Trackers helped with mastering this material and applying it in practice. The second direction was related to testing ideas with real users and customers. This was necessary so that at Sen\u0435\u0436, it would be possible to share not only ideas and views but also real figures and metrics.
<\/p>\n
Were the goals set at the beginning achieved?<\/h4>\n \nWAICO:<\/b> \u00abWe initially joined the pre-accelerator to gain contacts, partnerships, or administrative resources. Unfortunately, within the framework of the program, we only received a contact of an expert from Gazprom Neft (GPN). We expected more. Nevertheless, we were accepted into the GPN corporate accelerator \u2014 they are interested in our solution, and we are discussing the pilot process. A pilot site is currently being selected.<\/i><\/p>\n
Black Pixel:<\/b> Our main goal at the pre-accelerator was to attract funding for operational launch and marketing of the product. Our goal has been achieved, and we are now in contact with companies regarding further cooperation. We also managed to engage administrative resources in development and find experts from the corporate sector who found our solution appealing and are ready to proceed further.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\nSergey Ivanov:<\/b> A significant portion of projects has already found their first market clients. Agreements on pilot projects have been signed by many participants \u2014 I supervised three teams, and two of them have established cooperation. Additionally, the first investment agreements have been signed, and initial negotiations with investors have taken place.<\/i><\/p>\nWas the work with trackers and mentors effective?<\/h4>\n
\nWAICO:<\/b> Support was undoubtedly important \u2014 the trackers motivated us to achieve results and create truly useful solutions. Due to our limited understanding of working with corporations, there was a slight pause in the project's development. However, the trackers helped us navigate through it. They also tried to assist in gathering useful contacts for us and determining the final direction of the project.<\/i><\/p>\n
PLEXeT: <\/b>I dare say that the presentation we did in front of the experts from the Innovation Assistance Fund was the best one of my life. We felt in tune with all the jury members. They are all incredible people who reviewed our presentation and materials before the defense, and during the final pitch, they hit us with really relevant questions: \u201cHow does your solution differ from others? How will it be developed? You do understand that dynamic execution is required here?\u201d And we realized\u2014they really know their stuff! One expert actually struck at the heart of the matter\u2014he found information about our competitors and asked questions about their products. We were left with a great aftertaste. <\/p>\n
Working with the mentors was also very effective\u2014they showed us how real business pilots, implementations, and fundraising are done. They talked about all the pitfalls and loopholes. In general, it felt like a real reality show\u2014we all became a true family. We had dozens of chats, regularly called each other, and discussed all the issues. For that, we deserve special thanks. Shoutout to our mentor Viktor Stepanov\u2014he's a true professional in machine learning, business, and education. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
<\/p>\n
What will happen next?<\/h4>\n \nWAICO:<\/b> Despite planning to collaborate with GPN, we are still actively seeking contacts and other opportunities to engage with oil and gas and oil service companies. Our solution will be beneficial for them. In the future, we plan to create a full-fledged MVP and expand the functionality of the solution. <\/i><\/p>\n
PLEXeT:<\/b> We refused to take money from investors\u2014that imposes certain responsibilities on us (what if the solution doesn't work and we spend it all in vain?). Nevertheless, we received funding from FSI. With it, we can fully test the pilot from all angles, which will reduce risks. We will mainly spend it on scientific research. We also need a lot of funds for the development of machine learning\u2014to understand how it will operate in real-world conditions. <\/i><\/p>\n
Dream Team:<\/b> \"After the competition, we plan to integrate our solution with the online service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to inform rescue services that tourists are present in the reserve area. In the application, they will be able to notify about the start and end of their route, allowing the emergency rescuers to promptly begin searching for lost or injured groups.\" <\/i><\/p>\n
Tracker Sergey Ivanov also spoke about potential project development scenarios following the pre-acceleration program:<\/b> <\/p>\n\"In my opinion, projects that have completed the program have several pathways available to them.
The second is the opportunity to launch pilot projects and turn them into a steady stream of orders. This is a route for professional service provision in development for large government sector companies. <\/p>\n
The third scenario is a venture path, where the team continues to work on their product and attracts investments. This is an interesting and the most aggressive path that offers great prospects on one hand, but significant risks on the other. All these paths are open for the graduates of \"Digital Breakthrough\". The participants can choose based on their interests, as during the competition they gained practical experience, built networks, and enhanced their skills.\" <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\nInvestor Alexey Malikov also spoke about the future of the projects:<\/b> \"Having listened to the final pitch, I see potential for the development of some projects after the pre-accelerator, but there is one important point. Since most solutions emerged from the hackathon results, many teams lack business experience, making it difficult for them to create something significant. Because developing a product is one thing, but negotiating with a corporation is quite another. In my view, 50% of the pitches are absolutely not viable, it\u2019s hard to say anything coherent about 25%, while the remaining 25% are trustworthy. For me as an investor, the most important thing is to see a clear understanding in the eyes of the participants regarding how their future company will evolve. If they haven\u2019t developed a business model in two months at the pre-accelerator, there will be none moving forward.\" <\/i><\/p>\n
