Huawei Company announced<\/a><\/noindex> on the completion of the infrastructure setup for developing a new Linux distribution \u2014 openEuler<\/a><\/noindex>, which will evolve with the participation of<\/a><\/noindex> the community. The project's website has already published the first release of openEuler 1.0, ISO image<\/a><\/noindex> (3.2 GB) which is currently available only for systems based on the Aarch64 (ARM64) architecture. The repository contains about 1000 packages compiled for ARM64 and x86_64 architectures. The source code related to the distribution components<\/a><\/noindex> is hosted on Gitee<\/a><\/noindex>. openEuler is based on the developments of the commercial distribution EulerOS<\/a><\/noindex>, which is a fork of the CentOS package base and is mainly optimized for use on servers with ARM64 processors. The protection methods used in the EulerOS distribution are certified by the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China and are also recognized as compliant with CC EAL4+ (Germany), NIST CAVP (USA), and CC EAL2+ (USA) requirements. EulerOS is<\/a><\/noindex> is one of five operating systems (EulerOS, macOS, Solaris, HP-UX, and IBM AIX) and the only Linux distribution certified by the Open Group for compliance with the UNIX 03 standard.<\/p>\n
