Google Inc. revealed<\/a><\/noindex> Implementation plans in Chrome for blocking intrusive notifications, similar to those proposed to users a few days ago, Firefox 72<\/a><\/noindex>. Google has agreed that most notifications related to permissions are displayed by websites in an intrusive manner. Instead of showing such notifications only when they are truly necessary, websites often ask for permission after the first visit, regardless of the context of the actions being performed.<\/p>\n

Such activity, for example, spam requests for push notifications, interrupts user activity and distracts attention from actions in permission dialogs. Starting with the release of Chrome 80, scheduled for February 4, there will be a way to display permission requests in a non-intrusive manner that does not require any actions. Instead of a separate dialog, a prompt will appear in the address bar warning about the blocked permission request, which will then be minimized into an icon with a crossed-out bell. Clicking on this icon allows users to grant or deny the requested permission at their convenience.
