A post by Canonical's product manager, Riza Davis, has appeared on the Ubuntu distribution site, discussing the end of support for the Windows 7 operating system.<\/p>\n

In his post, Davis notes that millions of Windows 7 users faced two options to secure themselves and their data after Microsoft stopped supporting this operating system. The first option is to install Windows 10. However, this option comes with significant financial costs, as not only will a license need to be purchased, but the latest operating system from Microsoft will likely require hardware upgrades and possibly a new computer purchase.
The second option is to install one of the Linux distributions, including Ubuntu, which does not require any additional costs.<\/p>\n

In Ubuntu, users will find familiar applications such as Google Chrome, Spotify, WordPress, Blender, and even Skype from Microsoft, allowing them to continue using their computers in a familiar way without any issues. Thousands of other programs are available through the application center.<\/p>\n

Ubuntu allows users to play many popular games such as Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Hitman, and Dota. However, unfortunately, a number of games are still not available. At the same time, the situation is improving every day.<\/p>\n

Special attention is paid to security in the development of Ubuntu. Thanks to the openness of its code, every line is reviewed by specialists at Canonical or contributors from the community. Moreover, Ubuntu is the most popular operating system for corporate cloud solutions, and by using it, you get a product trusted by giants like Amazon and Google.<\/p>\n

Ubuntu can be obtained and used completely free of charge. The distribution's website offers a vast amount of documentation, and there is a forum where anyone can seek community help if they encounter any problems.<\/p>\n

If you know someone or a company that is still using Windows 7, inform them that such usage is no longer safe. One way to secure their computers is to install one of the Linux distributions, including Ubuntu, which brings enterprise-level reliability to ordinary users.<\/p>\n
