Technical Committee of the OASIS Consortium approved<\/a><\/noindex> The final version of the ODF 1.3 (OpenDocument) specification. After approval by the technical committee, the ODF 1.3 specification received the status of 'Committee Specification', which implies the complete end of the work, future immutability of the specification, and the readiness of the document for use by third-party developers and companies. The next step will be the approval of the presented specification as a standard by OASIS and ISO\/IEC.<\/p>\n

The key differences of OpenDocument 1.3 from the previous version of the specification included the introduction of new features for document protection, such as document notarization with a digital signature and content encryption using OpenPGP keys.
