Proton Technologies, which develops a secure email service and VPN, announced<\/a><\/noindex> has announced the opening of the source code<\/a><\/noindex> of ProtonVPN client programs for Windows<\/a><\/noindex>, macOS<\/a><\/noindex>, Android<\/a><\/noindex> and iOS<\/a><\/noindex> (console Linux client<\/a><\/noindex> was initially opened). The code audit for the Windows application that concluded a few days ago identified 4 vulnerabilities<\/a><\/noindex> (two medium severity and two minor): storing session tokens and credentials in the process memory, hard-coded VPN server keys in the configuration file (not used for authentication), inclusion of debugging information, and accepting connections on all network interfaces. <\/p>\n

No vulnerabilities were found in the version for macOS<\/a><\/noindex> . The iOS version found two minor vulnerabilities a vulnerability<\/a><\/noindex> (SSL certificate binding is not used and operation is not blocked on devices after jailbreak).
