This month, Microsoft released the final update for Windows 7, which is no longer supported. Microsoft initially intended to release a fix for this issue only for customers who paid for extended OS support, but later this decision was changed.<\/p>\n

Microsoft representatives have confirmed that after installing the KB4534310 package, Windows 7 users' desktop wallpapers may display incorrectly. The message notes that the issue only affects cases where the image set as wallpaper is set to the 'Stretch' option. Interestingly, this problem arose at the time when Microsoft was supposed to stop releasing free updates for the software platform.<\/p>\n

Recently, Microsoft announced that its specialists are working on a fix for the aforementioned issue, but it will only be available to business clients who pay for extended Windows 7 support. Now, it has become known that the software giant has changed its decision, and the update restoring functionality to desktop wallpapers will be available to all users of the outdated platform.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that Microsoft rarely releases publicly available updates and fixes for operating systems whose support has been discontinued. Usually, such updates are available to users who separately pay for extended support. One of the last such cases was the release of a security update package for Windows XP, intended to protect systems from ransomware attacks.<\/p>\n
