Mozilla, the company behind the popular web browser Firefox, has been working on creating its own VPN service for quite some time. It has now announced the launch of the beta version of the Firefox Private Network VPN client, available by subscription to users of Android devices.<\/p>\n

The developers claim that, unlike free alternatives, their VPN service does not log user traffic and does not save browsing histories. The product description in the Play Store contains some information about Mozilla's new offering. It states on the official Firefox Private Network website VPN<\/a> that the service was developed in collaboration with the open-source VPN developers of Mulvad VPN. Instead of more traditional protocols like OpenVPN or IPsec, the Firefox Private Network service operates on the WireGuard protocol, which provides higher speeds. Users will be able to connect through servers<\/a>, located in over 30 countries, while using up to five simultaneous connections.<\/p>\n

Currently, the VPN service can be utilized via an app for the Android platform, as well as a desktop client for Windows 10. Additionally, Mozilla has released a special extension for the Firefox browser. Since the Android app is in beta, it is currently available only to a limited number of users. As of now, the service is available for $4.99 per month, but it is possible that the pricing may be revised by the time the service fully launches. It is likely that the service will eventually be available on more software platforms.<\/p>\n
