Google Assistant for the Android platform is becoming more useful for people with vision impairments, as well as for those learning foreign languages. Developers have added the ability for the assistant to read web page content aloud.<\/p>\n

Google states that the new feature incorporates many of the company's advancements in speech technology. As a result, this feature operates more naturally compared to conventional text-to-speech tools. To start using the new function, simply say, «Okay, Google, read this» while viewing any webpage. As the virtual assistant reads, it will highlight the text being spoken. Additionally, the page will automatically scroll down as it reads. Users can adjust the reading speed and move between different parts of the page without needing to read the entire text.<\/p>\n

The new feature will be useful for people learning foreign languages. For instance, if a viewed page is displayed in the user's native language, they can have the virtual assistant translate it into one of 42 supported languages. Google Assistant will not only translate the page into the chosen language in real-time but will also vocalize the translation.<\/p>\n
