Published<\/a><\/noindex> project release LibreELEC 9.2.1<\/a><\/noindex>, developing<\/a><\/noindex> a distribution fork for creating home theaters OpenELEC<\/a><\/noindex>. The user interface is built on the Kodi media center. To download are prepared<\/a><\/noindex> images for use with USB drives or SD cards (32- and 64-bit x86, Raspberry Pi 1\/2\/3\/4, various devices on Rockchip and Amlogic chips). The new version adds a section in the configurator for setting up WireGuard VPN usage and improves support for Raspberry Pi 4 boards (increased performance and output quality in 1080p and 4K modes).<\/p>\n

With LibreELEC, you can turn any computer into a media center, and working with it is no more complicated than using a DVD player or set-top box. The core principle of the distribution is 'everything just works'; to create a fully functional environment, all you need to do is load LibreELEC from a flash drive. Users do not need to worry about keeping the system up to date\u2014the distribution uses an automatic boot and update installation system triggered when connected to the global network. There is also the possibility of extending the functionality of the distribution through an add-on system, which is installed from a separate repository maintained by the project's developers. <\/p>\n

It's worth noting that LibreELEC was created as a result of a conflict between the maintainer of OpenELEC and a large group of developers. The distribution does not use the package base of other distributions and is based on its own developments<\/a><\/noindex>. In addition to the standard features of Kodi, the distribution provides a number of additional functions aimed at maximizing ease of use. For example, a special configuration add-on is being developed that allows you to set network connection parameters, manage LCD screen settings, and enable or disable automatic updates. The distribution supports features such as remote control usage (management can be done via infrared port as well as Bluetooth), file sharing (built-in Samba server), integrated BitTorrent client Transmission, and automatic detection and connection of local and external drives.<\/p>\n
