Bazalt SPU Company announced<\/a><\/noindex> on the release of the distribution Simply Linux 9<\/a><\/noindex>, built on the basis of the ninth ALT platform<\/a><\/noindex>. The product is distributed under a license agreement<\/a><\/noindex>, which does not transfer the rights to distribute the distribution but allows physical and legal entities to use the system without limitation. The distribution is provided<\/a><\/noindex> is available in builds for x86_64, i586, aarch64, mipsel, e2kv4, e2k, riscv64 architectures and can operate on systems with 512 MB of RAM.

\"Release<\/a><\/noindex><\/center><\/p>\n

Simply Linux is a<\/a><\/noindex> user-friendly system with a classic desktop based on Xfce 4.14, providing full localization of the interface and most applications. The distribution is intended for home systems and corporate workstations. It includes a set of more than thirty applications, specially selected considering the preferences of Russian users, as well as an extensive collection of drivers and codecs.<\/p>\n

The distribution components include the Linux kernel 5.4 (4.9 for e2k and Nvidia Jetson Nano, 5.6 for Raspberry Pi 4), system manager Systemd 243.7, browser Chromium 80 (Firefox ESR 68.6.0 for aarch64), email client Thunderbird 68.6.0, office suite LibreOffice 6.3.5.2 (\"still\"), graphic editor GIMP 2.10.12, music player Audacious 3.10.1, instant messaging client Pidgin 2.13.0, multimedia player VLC 3.0.8 (celluloid 0.18 for aarch64 and mipsel), Wine 5.0 (for x86 only), Xorg 1.20.5, Mesa 19.1.8, NetworkManager 1.18.4.<\/p>\n

A feature of this release is the support for a wide range of hardware platforms, including those unique to Russian distributions so far. For example, a universal image for aarch64 has been tested on the Huawei Kungpeng Desktop (Kungpeng 920), builds are available for Raspberry Pi 4 and Jetson Nano, for systems and boards with domestic processors \"Baikal-M\" and \"Baikal-T\" from \"Baikal Electronics\", while the version for e2kv4 supports dual-seat configurations on the \"Elbrus 801-PC\" (\"Gorynich<\/a><\/noindex>\"). Finally, experimental builds have been prepared for the riscv64 architecture for the HiFive Unleashed board and QEMU.<\/p>\n

Images for x86 are hybrid and support UEFI (SecureBoot does not need to be disabled); please note the recommendations<\/a><\/noindex> for writing to the boot medium. The full image includes a lightweight non-installable LiveCD, while a separate LiveCD is enhanced with installation capability.<\/p>\n
