This is about a basic and inexpensive device costing only $500. Its purpose is to sustain or save lives in the absence of more advanced equipment on hand. These devices are primarily intended for third-world countries and in case of global disasters.<\/p>\n

At the core of the new device is an Ambo pump with automatic drive and a 'smart' computer system. The apparatus was developed in just 10 days by a group of investors and university staff under the guidance of Dr. David Alkaher. All information about the device is available to developers and engineers worldwide. The project team is already working with stakeholders from 20 countries.<\/p>\n

The trials of the new device were conducted by Professor Yoav Mintz, head of the Surgical Robotics Innovation Center at 'Hadassah' and a researcher at the Hebrew University.<\/p>\n

According to the developers, the first industrial samples will be available in two and a half weeks, and they will be distributed to 20 countries for further checks and licensing for use. Within two months, these machines can be mass-produced in countries lacking their own mechanical ventilation devices, such as Guatemala.<\/p>\n

Professor Mintz described the clinical trials: 'We anesthetized a pig and inserted the AmboVent device's tube into the animal's lungs. We used pigs because their size, body anatomy, and circulatory system resemble humans. When the test animal was in a state of artificial coma, we checked the only function of the new machine \u2014 the accurate delivery of oxygen to the lungs, without causing any additional harm to the internal organs. Our experience demonstrated that the machine successfully passed all tests. Oxygen was supplied timely, in the required volume, and sustained the animal's life for an extended period.'<\/p>\n

According to the testing protocol, a successful outcome was defined as three consecutive successful trials under extreme conditions. This part of the testing also concluded positively, confirming that the stable operation of the device is not coincidental. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
