After seven years of development the<\/a><\/noindex> project release FreeRDP 2.0<\/a><\/noindex>, offering an open-source implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol RDP<\/a><\/noindex> (Remote Desktop Protocol), developed based on specifications<\/a><\/noindex> Microsoft. The project provides a library for integrating RDP support into third-party applications and a client that can be used for remote connections to Windows desktops. The project code is distributed<\/a><\/noindex> under the Apache 2.0 license. <\/p>\n

The last stable release of the project was is formed<\/a><\/noindex> in January 2013, and testing of the 2.0 branch began in 2007. To avoid delays in development, future releases will follow a
\nrolling models, which involve the annual formation of a significant release after stabilizing the master branch and periodically publishing corrective updates. Significant releases will be supported for two years \u2014 one year for bug fixes and for another year solely for addressing vulnerabilities.<\/p>\n
