In our previous article \u201cExtremeSwitching X465: Universal Gigabit and Multigigabit\u201d<\/a><\/noindex> , we discussed the X465 series switches, which are positioned as access switches for the premium segment. In this article, we would like to introduce you to a new line of access switches for the budget segment \u2014 the ExtremeSwitching X435. This new series of switches is an upgrade to the Summit X430 line and an alternative to the ExtremeSwitching 210, which operates under FastPath OS. The X435, like all higher models, runs on the ExtremeXOS operating system.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a><\/noindex>
\nExtremeSwitching X435 is a stackable Layer 2 switch with static routing support. The lineup includes 5 models: three 8-port and two 24-port Gigabit Ethernet models with SFP uplinks up to 4\u00d71\/2.5 Gbps. All models, except for the 24-port one with PoE support, are fanless, ensuring silent operation and suitability for noise-sensitive environments such as offices, hotels, educational institutions, retail stores, shopping centers, and more. <\/p>\n

\nThe PoE models of ExtremeSwitching X435 support the modes \u201cFast\u201d and \u201cPerpetual-PoE\u201d<\/a><\/noindex>, and can deliver up to 30W per port according to the IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) standard. This enables them to power a wide range of devices, from wireless access points WiFi5\/WiFi6 APs, PoS terminals, modern LED fixtures, to IP cameras with pan-zoom capabilities or low-power IoT devices. The EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) technology is supported on all access ports.<\/p>\n

\nIn addition to the above, PoE is used to power the X435-8P-2T-W model, which does not have a built-in power supply. At the same time, the X435-8P-2T-W (depending on available budget) can provide Pass-Through PoE of up to 100W. In general, this can significantly reduce both operational and capital costs by simplifying and accelerating installation, as well as eliminating the need for additional power line installation. <\/p>\n
