ASUS is working to update its current smartphone lineup to Android 10, and one way to achieve this is by releasing a firmware version based on the standard AOSP build. Just over a week ago, it was reported that the Zenfone 5 has received a beta version of the Android 10 update based on AOSP<\/a><\/noindex>, and now four more ASUS phones are undergoing a similar process.<\/p>\n

The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer has released beta firmware versions of Android 10 based on the reference AOSP build for devices such as Zenfone Max M1<\/a><\/noindex>, , Zenfone Lite, and Zenfone Live L1<\/a><\/noindex> (which is essentially one phone sold under various names for different regions) and Zenfone Live L2<\/a><\/noindex>. All mentioned smartphones belong to the entry-level category, use Snapdragon 425 or Snapdragon 430 system-on-chips, and were originally released with Android 8.0 Oreo or Android 8.0 Oreo Go Edition on board.<\/p>\n

It's nice to see that ASUS hasn't forgotten about its basic models and is striving to update them to Android 10, even on the eve of the release of Android 11. As with the Zenfone 5, those wishing to download these beta updates must first back up their data.<\/p>\n
