ExtremeSwitching V300 is a new line of port expanders from Extreme Networks, operating on the IEEE 802.1BR protocol. We have already discussed this technology in our article. \"Extreme Extended Edge\" or switching based on the IEEE 802.1BR standard.<\/a><\/noindex>The series includes five fanless eight-port models with a wide range of connection, power supply, and installation options in temperature-sensitive and noise-sensitive environments, allowing for a broad spectrum of requirements to be met in project implementations.<\/p>\n

\nAll models, apart from the eight access ports, also have two uplink ports. For the V300-8P-2T-W model, these are 2 gigabit copper interfaces, while for the others, it's SFP+. A distinctive feature of the V300-8P-2T-W is that it is the only model in the entire line that receives power via PoE from the upstream switch, with no built-in power supply or connector for an external power supply. The lack of need for power cabling will save significant costs and project implementation time.<\/p>\n

\nIn addition to receiving power via PoE, the V300-8P-2T-W can also deliver power according to the PoE+ standard, with a budget of up to 105W, while the remaining two models with PoE support have budgets of up to 180W and 160W respectively. <\/p>\n

\nThe V300HT models have an IP42 protection class and an extended operating temperature range of -40 to +70\u00b0C, connectors for two power supply units, and are mountable on DIN rail. This allows devices to be installed and used in areas with higher operational requirements, such as transportation, industrial production, logistics centers, or wholesale and retail enterprises. <\/p>\n

\nExtremeSwitching V300 switches operate on a \"Plug and Play\" principle; simply connect the network interfaces and provide power, after which the V300 loads the configuration stored on the \"Control Bridge\" and the network begins to operate. One \"Control Bridge\" is sufficient, but if redundancy is necessary, two \"Control Bridges\" are used with an MLAG configuration, as depicted in the diagrams above.<\/p>\n
