Microsoft released<\/a><\/noindex> toolkit Rust\/WinRT<\/a><\/noindex>, enabling the use of the Rust language for developing applications based on the WinRT<\/a><\/noindex> (Windows Runtime). The associated project code has been published<\/a><\/noindex> is licensed under the MIT License.<\/p>\n

Rust\/WinRT allows for creating applications using standard Rust tools, similar to C++\/WinRT, enabling the invocation of any existing or future WinRT APIs using code generated on the fly from metadata describing the APIs. Such WinRT API calls resemble the inclusion of another Rust module. Rust\/WinRT can also be beneficial for simplifying the porting of C++\/WinRT applications when translating from C++ to Rust.<\/p>\n

Additionally, it's worth noting the publication<\/a><\/noindex> of the first alpha release of the project rust-analyzer<\/a><\/noindex>, which is a new frontend compiler optimized for use in integrated development environments. The project is the result of breaking down the standard rustc compiler into modules that allowed for the use of pre-existing and tested components when creating Rust-analyzer. Rust-analyzer will expand Rust language support in IDEs through the integrated implementation of a programming language support server based on the LSP (Language Server Protocol), as well as support for «lazy<\/a><\/noindex>» and incremental compilation. <\/p>\n

Rust-analyzer also supports the type capabilities of LSP servers related to parsing the semantics of the language, such as syntax highlighting, code autocompletion, typo analysis, transition detection, and link searching. Unlike the existing LSP server RLS<\/a><\/noindex>, Rust-analyzer is built on a fundamentally different architecture: RLS runs the compiler for the entire project and parses a JSON file with the results, while Rust-analyzer provides its own compilation process, analyzing the code as changes are made and handling only currently open files.<\/p>\n
