Published<\/a><\/noindex> release of the distribution UbuntuDDE 20.04<\/a><\/noindex>, based on the codebase Ubuntu 20.04 LTS<\/a><\/noindex> and delivered with the DDE (Deepin Desktop Environment) graphical interface. The project is currently an unofficial edition of Ubuntu, but the developers are in negotiations with Canonical to include UbuntuDDE in the official Ubuntu distributions. The size of ISO image<\/a><\/noindex> 2.2 GB.<\/p>\n

UbuntuDDE features the release of the Deepin desktop 5.0 and a set of specialized applications<\/a><\/noindex>, developed by the Deepin Linux project, including the Deepin File Manager, DMusic music player, DMovie video player, and DTalk messaging system. Unlike Deepin Linux, it features a redesigned interface and supplies the Ubuntu Software Center instead of the Deepin application store, with support for Snap and DEB packages. Kwin, developed by the KDE project, is used as the window manager.<\/p>\n

It is important to note that the components of the Deepin desktop are developed using C\/C++ (Qt5) and Go programming languages. A key feature is the panel that supports multiple working modes. In classic mode, there is a clearer separation of open windows and applications available to launch, displaying the system tray area. The efficient mode is somewhat reminiscent of Unity, blending indicators of running programs, favorite applications, and control applets (volume\/brightness settings, connected drives, clock, network status, etc.). The program launch interface is displayed in full screen and offers two modes \u2014 viewing favorite applications and navigating through the catalog of installed programs.<\/p>\n
