The Free TON Community, consisting of developers and potential users of the TON platform, has launched the Free TON blockchain platform. This was reported by RBC, citing a statement from the community, which stated that Telegram founder Pavel Durov, who was prohibited by U.S. authorities from launching the cryptocurrency, did not participate in the platform's launch.<\/p>\n

According to available data, instead of Gram tokens, project participants will receive tokens called TON. A total of 5 billion TON will be issued, 85% of which will be distributed for free to partners and users of the network. Additionally, 10% of the total token supply will go to developers, and 5% will be allocated to validators who will verify user transactions. The source notes that user tokens will be distributed through a referral program. This means that TON can be obtained by attracting new users to the platform. The signed community participants' \"Declaration of Decentralization\" states that TON tokens give their owners the right to participate in discussions about the platform's strategy and governance.<\/p>\n

The Free TON community declaration was signed by more than 170 participants. In addition to the technical partner Telegram, the company TON Labs, which participated in the creation of the blockchain platform, the community includes cryptocurrency exchanges Kuna and CEX.IO, as well as investment firms Dokia Capital and Bitscale Capital. The message also notes that Free TON is not associated with Telegram, its investors, or the company's dispute with the U.S. regulator.<\/p>\n
