The released version includes significant improvements in monitoring security, support for single sign-on, historical data compression using TimescaleDB, integrations with messaging delivery systems and support services, and much more.<\/p>\n<p>Zabbix consists of three basic components: a server for coordinating the execution of checks, forming check requests, and accumulating statistics; agents for performing checks on external hosts; a frontend for managing the system. The code <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/zabbix\/zabbix\">is distributed<\/a><\/noindex> is licensed under GPLv2. To reduce the load on the central server and form a distributed monitoring network, a series of proxy servers can be deployed to aggregate data from a group of hosts. Data can be stored in DBMSs such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, DB2, and Oracle. Without agents, the Zabbix server can receive data via protocols such as SNMP, IPMI, JMX, SSH\/Telnet, ODBC, conduct availability testing of web applications and virtualization systems.<\/p>\n<p>Official packages are available for the latest versions of the following platforms:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Linux distributions RHEL, CentOS, Debian, SuSE, Ubuntu, Raspbian\n<li class=\"l\"> Virtualization systems based on VMWare, VirtualBox, Hyper-V, XEN\n<li class=\"l\"> Docker\n<li class=\"l\"> Agents for all platforms including MacOS and MSI for Windows agent\n<li class=\"l\"> AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Digital Ocean, IBM\/RedHat Cloud\n<li class=\"l\"> Integration with support platforms Jira, Jira ServiceDesk, Redmine, ServiceNow, Zendesk, OTRS, Zammad\n<li class=\"l\"> Integration with user notification systems Slack, Pushover, Discord, Telegram, VictorOps, Microsoft Teams, SINGNL4, Mattermost, OpsGenie, PagerDuty\n<\/ul>\n<p>To upgrade from earlier versions, it is only necessary to install the new binary files (server and proxy) and new interface. Zabbix will automatically perform the database upgrade procedure. No new agents will be required.
