Red Hat released<\/a><\/noindex> the source texts of its system edition Bugzilla<\/a><\/noindex>, used for error database management, tracking their resolution, and coordinating the implementation of new features. The Bugzilla code is written in Perl and is distributed under the free MPL license. The largest projects using Bugzilla include Mozilla<\/a><\/noindex>, Red Hat<\/a><\/noindex> and openSUSE<\/a><\/noindex>. Red Hat uses its own branch RHBZ (Red Hat Bugzilla) in its infrastructure, enhanced with extended features and adapted for the specific development needs of Red Hat. <\/p>\n

The branch has been in development since 1998, but to this day its development was conducted behind closed doors, without publishing change history and without granting access to the repository due to the presence of confidential information in the meta-data. Now RHBZ has been transformed into a separate open project, the code of which is entirely is open<\/a><\/noindex> under the MPL-2.0 license and available for use by third parties. The current Bugzilla source tree was utilized as the basis for RHBZ, upon which the necessary add-ons were maintained. Due to the presence of confidential data in commit notes, the open version of RHBZ is published as one large patch<\/a><\/noindex> (1174 files changed, 274307 lines added, 54053 lines removed) on top of the source texts Bugzilla 5.0.4<\/a><\/noindex>. In addition to the original Bugzilla codebase, RHBZ also utilizes elements from branch<\/a><\/noindex>, supported for the Mozilla infrastructure. The interface in RHBZ has been transitioned to using the JavaScript framework Alertify<\/a><\/noindex>, which is used for dynamic data loading via the Ajax mechanism and for implementing advanced editing features in forms. The library DataTables<\/a><\/noindex>, for generating diagrams in reports \u2014 PlotylyJS<\/a><\/noindex>, for organizing dialog workflows and forms \u2014 Selectize<\/a><\/noindex>, and for managing fonts \u2014 Font Awesome Free<\/a><\/noindex>. The edition also includes Bugzilla extensions from the project Bayoteers<\/a><\/noindex>, such as BayotBase<\/a><\/noindex>, AgileTools<\/a><\/noindex> and TreeViewPlus<\/a><\/noindex> to output information about dependencies and manage group work.<\/p>\n

The original codebase Bugzilla<\/a><\/noindex> is now limited to occasional bug fixes<\/a><\/noindex>.
