Changing Fonts<\/h4>\n<p>\nFonts on all snom phones are freely customizable and can be changed via auto-provisioning. Remember that if the currently used TrueType or raster font is replaced with a custom one, there may be certain discrepancies in text rendering, as the user interface is optimized for one specific TrueType font.<\/p>\n<p>To replace any font, you need to create a tar file containing the new font, which must be named exactly the same as the old font that will be replaced.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\"tar -cvf fonts.tar fontfile.ttf\"<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Then, you need to provide a link to this tar file in the xml file so that it is properly loaded when the phone restarts.<\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"xml\"><\/code><\/pre>\n<p>\nMore information on which fonts are pre-installed can be found on our <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/wiki.snom.com\/Category:HowTo:PUI_fonts\">wiki<\/a><\/noindex><br \/>\nThus, you can upload your own font to the phone.<\/p>\n<h4>3. Uploading a Background Image<\/h4>\n<p>\nWe will demonstrate how to correctly upload a background and what settings are important.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DIY or How to Customize Your Snom Phone. Part 1 Colors, Font, Background\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/f7854a1320e6bc958a82e2cb62ad5d17.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><br \/>\n<br \/>\nYou can upload a background image through the Web Interface \u2192 <b>Preferences <\/b>\u2192 <b>Appearance<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DIY or How to Customize Your Snom Phone. Once this parameter is changed, the background image will be replaced.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can change this setting using auto-provisioning by adding the tag  with a valid value to your xml file.<\/p>\n<p>If this parameter is empty or the image URL is incorrect, the default background image of the phone will be used.<\/p>\n<p><b>Important<\/b>: if you are using software prior to version 10.1.33.33, you need to set the background plan color value to fully transparent.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DIY or How to Customize Your Snom Phone. This can be achieved by setting the alpha value to 0 for the background color.<\/p>\n<p>Starting from firmware version 10.1.33.33, the background transparency color automatically adjusts to the background image displayed on the phone. However, it will not be completely transparent. To achieve full transparency, the  setting must still have an alpha value of 0.<\/p>\n<p>To properly display the background image, it should be saved in png, jpg, gif, bmp, or tga format.
