The developers of the CentOS project informed<\/a><\/noindex> on the continuation of the development of the continuously updated edition CentOS Stream<\/a><\/noindex>, which provides access to packages being prepared for the next intermediate release of RHEL (the rolling variant of RHEL). The most notable innovation has been the launch of the new RealTime (RT) repository, which offers a set of packages aimed at applications that require minimal latency. The mentioned packages are being developed under the supplement «Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Real Time<\/a><\/noindex>» for RHEL 8.3.<\/p>\n

To enable the repository in a CentOS Stream environment, you need to install the package «centos-release-stream» and activate the Stream-RT repository (\\\/etc\\\/yum.repos.d\\\/CentOS-Stream-RT.repo). Amongst offered<\/a><\/noindex> packages in the repository are: the kernel kernel-rt, the rt-tests utilities for analyzing system responsiveness, rteval for checking system suitability for RT applications, rtctl for changing parameters, rt-setup for configuring the environment, and tuned<\/a><\/noindex> — a service for applying profiles optimized for specific types of workloads.<\/p>\n
