The governing board of The Document Foundation, overseeing the development of the free LibreOffice suite, reported<\/a><\/noindex> decided to cancel the plan<\/a><\/noindex> regarding the release of the office suite LibreOffice 7.0 labeled 'Personal Edition'. After analyzing the community's response, it was decided to allocate additional time for discussions and postpone the adoption of the new marketing plan<\/a><\/noindex> until the release of LibreOffice 7.1. The release of LibreOffice 7.0 will be published without additional labels, just like LibreOffice 6.4.<\/p>\n

Recall that the candidate release of LibreOffice 7.0 was launched with the label 'Personal Edition' in line with the new marketing plan being developed for the next five years. The label was intended to simplify the promotion of additional commercial editions prepared by third-party providers and to more clearly distinguish the current free LibreOffice, supported by the community, from the enterprise products and additional services created based on it. From Red Hat, Rich Bowen, CentOS Community Manager and Vice President of the Apache Software Foundation, joined the board. From Bank of America, Wende Peters, Vice President of Security Innovation, joined the board.
