Telegram Desktop developer discovered<\/a><\/noindex>, that the im-desktop client from Mail.ru, (apparently, this is a desktop client myteam<\/a><\/noindex>) copied the old custom animation engine from Telegram Desktop entirely unchanged (according to the author, of not the best quality). Moreover, not only was Telegram Desktop never mentioned initially, but the license of the code was also changed, thus altering it from GPLv3 to Apache, which is unacceptable according to the requirements of GPLv3.<\/p>\n

As can be seen from the code, something was added, but the initial content was simply transferred with minimal changes: code mail-ru-im<\/a><\/noindex> \/
\ncode telegramdesktop<\/a><\/noindex>. On August 6, after the information was reposted in some Telegram chats, the mention of authorship was
\nadded<\/a><\/noindex>, however, the re-licensing from GPLv3 to the more permissive Apache 2.0 still remained. Accordingly, there is a potential for a lawsuit from Telegram against Mail.Ru Group.<\/p>\n
