Mozilla introduced<\/a><\/noindex> a new edition of the browser for virtual reality systems \u2014 Firefox Reality PC Preview<\/a><\/noindex>. The browser supports all of Firefox's privacy features but offers a different three-dimensional user interface, allowing navigation through websites within a virtual world or as part of augmented reality systems. Builds are<\/a><\/noindex> for installation via the HTC Viveport catalog (currently only for Windows 10). It can work with all 3D headsets supported by the Viveport platform, including Vive Cosmos, Vive Pro, Valve Index, Oculus Rift, and Oculus Rift S.<\/p>\n

Unlike the standard version Firefox Reality<\/a><\/noindex>, which works on devices running Android, the Firefox Reality PC edition is designed for virtual reality platforms connected to personal computers. In addition to the interface meant for control via a 3D headset, which allows viewing traditional two-dimensional pages, the browser offers web developers the WebXR and WebVR APIs with VR extensions for WebGL and CSS, enabling the creation of specialized three-dimensional web applications for interaction in virtual spaces and realizing new methods of 3D navigation, input mechanisms, and information search interfaces. It also supports viewing 3D videos filmed in 360 degrees using a VR headset. Control is done via VR controllers, and data input in web forms is possible through a virtual or physical keyboard.<\/p>\n
