Available<\/a><\/noindex> new version of the XMPP client Kaidan 0.6.0<\/a><\/noindex>. The program is written in C++ using Qt, QXmpp, and the framework Kirigami<\/a><\/noindex>. Code is distributed<\/a><\/noindex> under GPLv3 license. The need for a new language arose during Keith Packard's teaching practice, where he wished to use a language suitable for teaching students on Arduino boards and reminiscent of Lego Logo, but capable of forming a foundation for further learning in programming. Key requirements for the new language included a text-based nature (demonstrating real programming methods not tied to graphical interfaces and mice), are prepared<\/a><\/noindex> for Linux (AppImage<\/a><\/noindex> and flatpak<\/a><\/noindex>) and Android<\/a><\/noindex>. Publications of builds for macOS and Windows are delayed. <\/p>\n

A key improvement in the new version is the implementation of an offline message queue \u2014 when there is no network connection, messages are now cached and automatically sent when the connection is restored. The new version also allows for the correction of any messages, including those waiting to be sent, not just the last message. Support has been added for initiating chat from a notification window. Account management pages have been moved to the settings section, copy buttons for JID and password have been implemented, and an option to hide the password has been added. <\/p>\n
