Microsoft has finally released an update that addresses an issue that has plagued Windows 10 users for the past few months. This concerns a problem with notifications regarding internet connectivity status that appeared for some users after installing one of the cumulative updates for Windows 10.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, some Windows 10 users reported issues with their internet connection. In several instances, the taskbar in Windows 10 began showing a notification indicating a lack of network connection, even when a connection was actually established. Initially, it was believed that the problem occurred after installing the Windows 10 May 2020 Update, but later this same error was found in some users of Windows 10 (1909) and earlier versions of the software platform.<\/p>\n

Despite the seemingly minor nature of the issue \u2014 it only affects connection status notifications \u2014 it disrupts the functionality of several applications. Some applications, such as Microsoft Store or Spotify, rely on Windows API interfaces that depend on the connection status indicator located in the taskbar. When the indicator reports no connection, these applications also switch to offline mode and cannot provide the user with features that require an internet connection.   <\/p>\n

Now, Microsoft has started rolling out a patch that addresses the mentioned issue. It is available as an optional update that can be downloaded through the \"Windows Update Center.\" After installation, the Windows 10 build number will change to 19041.546, and the issue with connection status notifications will be resolved. Additionally, this patch will be included in the cumulative update that will be released later in October as part of the Patch Tuesday program.<\/p>\n
