OCCT \u2014 the only relevant today open-source geometric modeling kernel distributed under a free license. Open CASCADE Technology is a vital component of projects such as FreeCAD, KiCAD, Netgen, gmsh, CadQuery, pyOCCT, and others. Version OCCT 7.5.0 includes over 400 enhancements and fixes compared to the previous version 7.4.0.<\/p>\n
The Open CASCADE Technology version 7.5.0 contains new features for most modules and components. In particular, the Draw Harness 3D Viewer allows navigation through large models of real size, including teleport-style navigation in VR viewing mode. Data exchange functionality has been enhanced with support for glTF 2.0 writing. New visualization features include additional texture maps to improve visual quality, correct sRGB output rendering for translucent materials, and gradient processing, along with the PBR Metallic-Roughness process to enhance the visualization quality of metallic objects. Unicode symbol support has been supplemented with corresponding improvements in the STEP translator, DRAW console, message resources, and visualization. New samples have been introduced, demonstrating the use of the OCCT 3D Viewer compiled as WebAssembly in the browser and an overview of the basic usage of the C++ API for various OCCT functions.<\/p>\n
For greater user convenience and improved navigation, the documentation structure has been revamped. In particular, a new section titled 'Contribution' has been created to facilitate access to OCCT developer tools and encourage users to contribute to the development of OCCT source code. \nAn updated portal for OCCT developers, featuring enhanced participation opportunities, additional development resources, and a broader range of forum topics, will be available shortly.<\/p>\n
