OpenIndiana ofrece al usuario un entorno de trabajo basado en una nueva versi\u00f3n de la base de c\u00f3digo del proyecto Illumos. El desarrollo de las tecnolog\u00edas de OpenSolaris contin\u00faa con el proyecto Illumos, donde se desarrollan el n\u00facleo, la pila de red, los sistemas de archivos, los controladores, as\u00ed como un conjunto b\u00e1sico de utilidades y bibliotecas del sistema para los usuarios. Se han creado tres tipos de im\u00e1genes ISO para su descarga: la edici\u00f3n de servidor con aplicaciones de consola (877 MB), la versi\u00f3n m\u00ednima (345 MB) y la versi\u00f3n con entorno gr\u00e1fico MATE (1.6 GB).      <\/p>\n<p>Principales cambios en OpenIndiana 2021.04:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Se ofrecen varias opciones de controladores propietarios de NVIDIA: 460.67, 390.141 (por defecto), 340.108.\n<li class=\"l\"> Los compiladores gcc-7, gcc-8, gcc-9 y gcc-10 se han compilado utilizando el mecanismo SSP (Stack Smashing Protection) para proteger la pila (-fstack-protector).\n<li class=\"l\"> La biblioteca OpenSSL ha sido actualizada a la rama 1.1.1.\n<li class=\"l\"> Se ha iniciado el proceso de actualizaci\u00f3n de las versiones de Python y de los paquetes relacionados con este lenguaje.
