Moksha se desarrolla como un fork de la base de c\u00f3digo Enlightenment 17 (E17), creado para continuar el desarrollo de Enlightenment como un entorno de escritorio ligero, a ra\u00edz de desacuerdos sobre la pol\u00edtica de desarrollo del proyecto, el crecimiento del entorno Enlightenment 19 (E19) y la disminuci\u00f3n de la estabilidad de la base de c\u00f3digo.
