Con el apoyo de la organizaci\u00f3n FreeBSD Foundation, se est\u00e1 desarrollando un nuevo instalador para FreeBSD, que a diferencia del instalador bsdinstall actual, podr\u00e1 utilizarse en modo gr\u00e1fico y ser\u00e1 m\u00e1s comprensible para los usuarios comunes. Actualmente, el nuevo instalador se encuentra en una fase de prototipo experimental, pero ya puede realizar operaciones b\u00e1sicas de instalaci\u00f3n. Se ha preparado una imagen ISO para los interesados en participar en las pruebas, que puede funcionar en modo Live. <\/p>\n

El instalador est\u00e1 escrito en el lenguaje Lua y se implementa en forma de servidor http, proporcionando una interfaz web. La imagen de instalaci\u00f3n representa un sistema Live, en el que se inicia un entorno de trabajo con un navegador web que muestra en modo de ventana \u00fanica la interfaz web del instalador. El proceso del servidor del instalador y el navegador se ejecutan en el medio de instalaci\u00f3n y act\u00faan como el backend y el frontend. Adem\u00e1s, se ofrece la posibilidad de gestionar la instalaci\u00f3n desde un host externo. <\/p>\n

El proyecto se desarrolla utilizando una arquitectura modular. En funci\u00f3n de los par\u00e1metros seleccionados por el usuario, se genera un archivo de configuraci\u00f3n que se utiliza como script para la instalaci\u00f3n real. A diferencia de los scripts de instalaci\u00f3n soportados en bsdinstall, los archivos de configuraci\u00f3n del nuevo instalador tienen una estructura m\u00e1s r\u00edgidamente definida y pueden emplearse para crear interfaces alternativas de instalaci\u00f3n.
