El c\u00f3digo del nuevo controlador NTFS fue abierto por Paragon Software en agosto del a\u00f1o pasado y se diferencia del controlador existente en el n\u00facleo por su capacidad para operar en modo de escritura. El nuevo controlador admite todas las caracter\u00edsticas de la versi\u00f3n actual NTFS 3.1, incluyendo atributos de archivos extendidos, listas de control de acceso (ACL), modo de compresi\u00f3n de datos, trabajo eficiente con espacios vac\u00edos en archivos (sparse) y reproducci\u00f3n de cambios del registro para restaurar la integridad despu\u00e9s de fallos. Paragon Software ha confirmado que est\u00e1 listo para mantener el c\u00f3digo propuesto en el n\u00facleo y planea m\u00e1s adelante trasladar la implementaci\u00f3n del registro para trabajar sobre el dispositivo de bloque gen\u00e9rico JBD (Journaling block device) que se utiliza para el registro en ext3, ext4 y OCFS2.
