Jiri Konecny de Red Hat ha anunciado un trabajo de modernizaci\u00f3n y mejora de la interfaz de usuario del instalador Anaconda, utilizado en Fedora, RHEL, CentOS y algunas otras distribuciones de Linux. Cabe destacar que, en lugar de la biblioteca GTK, la nueva interfaz se basar\u00e1 en tecnolog\u00edas web y permitir\u00e1 la gesti\u00f3n remota a trav\u00e9s de un navegador web. Se menciona que la decisi\u00f3n de redise\u00f1ar el instalador ya se ha tomado, pero la implementaci\u00f3n a\u00fan se encuentra en la fase de un prototipo funcional, que no est\u00e1 listo para ser mostrado. <\/p>\n

Como base para la creaci\u00f3n de la nueva interfaz se han utilizado componentes del proyecto Cockpit, empleado en los productos de Red Hat para la configuraci\u00f3n y gestionar servidores.<\/a>. Cockpit ha sido elegido como una soluci\u00f3n bien establecida que ofrece un backend para interactuar con el instalador (Anaconda DBus). Adem\u00e1s, el uso de Cockpit permitir\u00e1 lograr uniformidad y unificar varios componentes de gesti\u00f3n del sistema. La aplicaci\u00f3n de una interfaz web mejorar\u00e1 significativamente la facilidad de gesti\u00f3n remota de la instalaci\u00f3n, que no se puede comparar con la soluci\u00f3n actual basada en el protocolo VNC. <\/p>\n

El redise\u00f1o de la interfaz se basar\u00e1 en el trabajo ya realizado para aumentar la modularidad del instalador y no tendr\u00e1 un impacto notable en los usuarios de Fedora, ya que la mayor parte de Anaconda ya se ha transformado en m\u00f3dulos que interact\u00faan a trav\u00e9s de la API DBus, y la nueva interfaz utilizar\u00e1 la API existente sin redise\u00f1os internos.
