Se han preparado las actualizaciones correctivas de OpenVPN 2.5.6 y 2.4.12, un paquete para crear redes privadas virtuales que permite establecer una conexi\u00f3n cifrada entre dos m\u00e1quinas cliente o proporcionar el funcionamiento de un servidor VPN centralizado para que varios clientes trabajen simult\u00e1neamente. El c\u00f3digo de OpenVPN se distribuye bajo la licencia GPLv2, y se generan paquetes binarios listos para Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL y Windows. <\/p>\n

En las nuevas versiones se ha solucionado una vulnerabilidad que potencialmente permite eludir la autenticaci\u00f3n mediante la manipulaci\u00f3n de complementos externos que soportan el modo de autenticaci\u00f3n diferida (deferred_auth). El problema surge cuando varios complementos env\u00edan respuestas de autenticaci\u00f3n diferida, lo que permite a un usuario externo acceder bas\u00e1ndose en credenciales no completamente correctas. A partir de las versiones de OpenVPN 2.5.6 y 2.4.12, los intentos de usar autenticaci\u00f3n diferida con varios complementos dar\u00e1n lugar a un error. <\/p>\n

Entre los otros cambios se incluye la inclusi\u00f3n del nuevo plugin sample-plugin\/defer\/multi-auth.c, que puede ser \u00fatil para organizar pruebas simult\u00e1neas del uso de diferentes plugins de autenticaci\u00f3n, para evitar vulnerabilidades como la mencionada anteriormente.
